For this assignment, we were challenged to create a collage animation through the use of different assets in After Effects. I took this opportunity to also layer in video footage to give the appearance of the fruit characters singing along. I started this project by filming a willing friend singing along to “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen. Importing it into after effects, I masked out around the mouth to layer on top of my fruit friends. I also used myself and friends as the faces of the fruits. At the end of the video I wanted them to turn into normal fruit to imply that the viewer hallucinated singing fruit!

Process:

This project required a lot of trial and error with layering the singing mouth on top of the fruit. It took a lot of adjusting to figure out how I wanted to display the mouth when I eventually landed on making it large and more prominent.
