This project was a freelance job brought to me by OK Motion Club. The Atlanta-based animation studio came to me with the job of creating an animated bumper for their movie night. They team up with Topo Chico to put on female-directed movies at The Plaza Theater in Atlanta over the summer. I was assigned to create an animation to set up the movie, “Whip It”, which follows the story of a young girl starting in the roller derby world.

I wanted to highlight the physical toughness that goes into the sport while maintaining a fun and engaging energy. I created all my assets in Illustrator and animated in After Effects.

The fast-paced animation follows a roller derby player as she comes off the court beaten and tired. She takes a sip of her Topo Chico and is ready to get back on the court for more action!
